They facilitate exchange of knowledge and scientific research between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation, specifically stroke, (traumatic) brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, pediatric neurological disorders and spinal cord injury. Furthermore they stimulate collaboration between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation (including patient organisations) and represent scientific research and healthcare policy in the field of neurological rehabilitation. Last but not least they represent (para)medical professionals in the field of neurological rehabilitation. The DSNR is member of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR).
The Belgian Society for NeuroRehabilitation (BSNR)
A young society that aims at bringing together all clinicians and researchers interested in neurorehabilitation: PMR specialists, neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and neuropsychologists. The BSNR attempts to promote contacts and collaboration between all these specialties. Our society is member of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR). We collaborate with the DSNR for the organization of the Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair congress, each two years. The next congress will be organised in May 2019 in Maastricht. We also organise several symposia in Belgium. The last one welcomed 150 participants in 2016 at the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc - Brussels. The next symposium will be held at the KU Leuven on November 17th 2018.
